Bulk Food Marketplace Bulk food stores are a treasure in any community. They offer the consumer a chance to purchase as much or as little of a product as they want. I recently got to visit one of the best bulk food stores I have been to. Bulk Food Marketplace has two locations, one in Clinton Township, the other in St. Clair Shores. I was at the Clinton Township store. It’s huge for a bulk food place, at least twice the size of others I shop at. They have a great selection of everything from flour to candy to herbs & spices. I got some dried herbs to replenish my supply. The best thing I found in this store was pretzel salt. I love making soft pretzels, but I have never been able to find any place that carries pretzel salt. Kosher salt can work, but it doesn’t have the bite that pretzel salt does. So I bought a big bag of that. I also purchased some semi-sheet chocolate. They have the best deal on blocks of chocolate that I have seen. It was over $2 cheaper per pound than I pay at another bulk food store.

If you are into baking and candy making you will love this store. They have all sorts of flavorings. I got some peach flavoring to use in candy recipes. Or if you are into just eating candy, they have a great selection, including just about every Jelly Belly flavor imaginable. They also carry items for those that have certain health needs including sugar free and gluten free products.

While the store isn’t the most fancy place, most bulk store aren’t, don’t pass this jewel up. What they lack in state of the art signs, they make up for with wonderful products and friendly service. For more information about the store, click here to visit their website.
