This is part of a series of posts on grocery stores that I have been to and would recommend to those that live in the area to check them out.
One of the greastest finds in my 2 1/2 years in Ann Arbor is our local bulk food store, By the Pound. It has a wide selection of herbs, spices, different types of flour, dried fruits, popcorn, candy, coffee beans, tea leaves, and more. This is where I buy all my dried herbs and spices. They have great prices and friendly service. They have the best price is town on bittersweet and semisweet chocolate. I also like their glass spice containers that I can get for 99 cents a piece. The store is attached to a European delicatessen and a Latin American food store (you can walk right throug to the next store without going outside!). It is located on Main Street, just south of the downtown area. I drove by it several times without realizing what was there, but when I did, I was glad I found it.
