Cara Cara Navel Oranges

Cara Cara Naval

Today I got to try my first Cara Cara Naval Orange (also called red naval orange) and it was delicious. These oranges originated in South America and known for their pink/red interior. They look more like the color of a grapefruit than an orange. They are sweet and are lower in acidity than other oranges. They taste like a regular naval orange with kind of cherry or berry undertone. I picked mine up for 99 cents a pound at Fresh Market in Fort Wayne, IN. I have also seem them at my local Whole Food store. Anyone who is a fan of oranges, should give this one a try.
