I wanted to take a moment to share with my Michigan readers a cool local event to check out. DeGrandchamp’s in South Haven, Michigan will be having a Cranberry Harvest Day on Saturday, October 13th from 10am to 4pm. You will have a chance to take a hay wagon ride out to their cranberry bogs. Watch how they harvest their cranberries. It would be a fun event for the family and a great lesson for the kids.

The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. If you have questions call them at 269-637-3915 or visit their website.

DeGrandchamp’s grows cranberries for Ocean Spray as well as running a u-pick blueberry operation. The Ocean Spray fresh cranberries and juices you find in Michigan might have been grown at DeGrandchamp’s.

To give you a peak at what you might see, I included a video of a cranberry harvest elsewhere.
