Earlier this year, I got a chance to visit Fitzβs American Grill & Bottling Works in St. Louis, MO. I got to taste a lot of great soda pop directly from the tap and in a frosty mug. They also had bottles you could buy to take home. I choose their strawberry pop (best strawberry ever!) and their orange cream. I have had a lot of orange cream sodas and have reviewed quite a few on this website. So I know what I am looking for. I like orange cream soda to taste as close to an orange ice cream bar as possible. So how did Fitz's do?
I don't think it's their best effort. It's tastes good, but I think the strong vanilla taste is overpowering. The vanilla flavor is more prominent than the orange. This is what really brings down the rating of this drink. I do credit them for the right amount of carbonation.
Where to Buy
You can buy Fitz's Orange Cream at the restaurant itself or any many locations in the metro St. Louis area, like Straub's.
You can also purchase Fitz's Root Beer and Strawberry online from the Old 52 General Store. They have carry over 300 varieties of glass bottled soda that you can purchase online or at their store in Sabin, Minnesota.
