Our strange little finger carrots.

Our strange little finger carrots.

This was the first year of trying to grow carrots. I choose the Little Finger variety from Burpee. They are small carrots about 3 ½’ long and 5/8’ thick. I grew them in two locations: at our community garden raised bed and in a large pot. Both with met with good results. I would definitely recommend growing carrots in a pot, as it worked very well for us. I did not find much of a different in each location.

The biggest challenge I had was spacing. It is time consuming in thinning out the carrots. Next year I need to do this early as many of my carrots ending up splitting off and growing into two sections.
