Green Apple is one of my wife's favorite flavors of soda pop. So when choosing which flavors I was going to buy from the new Jelly Belly gourmet soda line, I picked the green apple. This soda contains only natural flavors and is sweetened with cane sugar. For a good green apple soda, you expect a nice apple flavor with some tartness to it. So did Jelly Belly accomplish that?
Not even close. My wife disliked it so much she couldn't even finish the bottle. When I tried it, the first thing I noticed was that it smelled more like fruit punch. Upon tasting it, it tasted more like fruit punch, but with a little hint of tartness. I really don't think the flavor was all that bad, expect that it didn't taste like green apple should. If you would have labeled the bottle slightly sour punch, I would have totally believed it. I have only got to try two of the Jelly Belly flavored soda and so far it's 0 for 2. If you want a better green apple carbonated experience try the Jones version.
