    Joe's Produce - Livonia, MI

    Published: Jan 17, 2010 Β· Modified: May 1, 2019 by Eric Samuelson

This is part of a series of posts on grocery stores that I have been to and would recommend to those that live in the area to check them out.

I was watching TV and I saw an ad for a place called Joe's Produce. I never heard of it before and when I checked the map it was on my way home from my parent's house. The store opened in 1967, after existing as a road side stand on 7 mile road in Livonia (where the store is located today). The outside of the store is beautiful as well as the inside. Speaking of the inside I was greeted by a vast selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Joe travels to the Eastern Market in Detroit to select produce each day. The quality is great. The signs are written in bright, bold, big letters, so there is no confusion on what you are picking out. The prices weren't bad. I got some pears for .69 a pound. I found some apple cider that was made with only SweeTango apples (they also had Gala only, and Honeycrisp only).

Joe's carries more than just produce. They have a section of dried goods, wonderful selection of cheese, deli meats, and a bakery. For the coffee lover, you will find Cuppa Joe's Coffee with coffee beans that have are roasted daily right in the store. Joe's also offers cooking classes for a fee.

The store is located on 7 mile, near Farmington Road in Livonia, Michigan. They are open Monday-Saturday 9am-8pm and Sunday 9am-6pm. If you are in the area, swing on by for a pleasurable shopping experience. For more information visit their website: http://www.joesproduce.com/index.php
