All good things come to an end.
This is the final post in our summer series - Hit the Road Snackin. We have enjoyed sharing with you some of the best snacks you can have for your summer road trip. I hope that I have challenged you to take a closer look at what you are eating and give you inspirations for better snacks to pack.
In our final installment we are talking crackers made by the good people at Milton's Craft Bakers. What they do is make delicious certified gluten free crackers and organic crackers. These are the crackers your going to want to snack on as your cruising down the highway.
Who is Milton's Craft Bakers
Let me introduce you to Milton's Craft Bakers. Located in Carlsbad, California, Milton's proudly uses Non-GMO Project Verified ingredients to make their gluten free crackers, organic crackers, gourmet crackers, snack crackers, craft bread, and their newest product thin & crispy cauliflower crust pizzas.
Milton's was founded 20 years ago. They started out making their multigrain bread. They sensed the consumer demand and need for gluten free crackers. So in 2014, they began making their gluten free crackers and have since expanded to include crackers that "allow everyone to experience the joy of eating well".
Milton's believes it's important to support different cause, such as Celiac Support Association, Children's Miracle Network, Gluten Intoleration group, just to name a few. You can find a full list on their website.
Sharing the Joy
Mitlon's is all about people being able to come together and enjoy food regardless of their ages, needs, or preferences. Here is what they say "Sharing the Joy" means (you gotta love a company that has creating joy as one of their missions).
Gathering friends and family together at the table to share in the moment is about including everyone: all ages, needs and preferences. Whether it’s a meal together or a festive snacking occasion, life and joy happens around good food. Milton’s “Free-From,” better-for-you snacks, such as our Gluten Free Crackers, make eating well and great taste a universal experience for everyone to share.
It doesn't matter where you are gathering, could be inside your van with your family, heading west on Interstate 94.
Milton's Gluten Free Cheddar Cheese Crackers
Perfectly crunchy, is how I would describe these crackers. Light as well. When you can make a cracker that hits both of these at the same time, then you know how to make a cracker.
Milton's not shy with the cheddar,. If your gluten free, this cracker is the "it" cracker to replace the cheese crackers you may have had before going gluten free. Even if you are not trying to avoid gluten, you don't want to avoid the flavor these crackers pack.
My kids love the crackers as well. I feel better about offering them this cheese crackers than any brand that is "fishing" to get parents to buy them for their kids.

Miton's Organic Pink Himalayan Salt Crackers
This is the type of cracker that will appeal to a wide audience. It's straight forward, yet good. I love the use of Pink Himalayan salt; it adds more flavor to the cracker. I have had similar crackers in shape and size to these, but they do not match the flavor. They tasted more like the box the cracker comes in.
The large surface area of the Pink Himalayan Salt crackers make them an ideal choice for dipping - see below for an example 🙂

Tip for Dipping on the Road
Besides these crackers being down right delicious, the size of them makes them a perfect choice for dipping while on the road. Since your not sitting at a table or chair, you need a cracker that is wide enough to dip with without making a mess all over your car. These crackers are perfect for that.
The next question is how can you use dip in the car easily? The problem arises is that most dips, guacamole, salsa, etc come in containers that are wide, way too wide to fit in a cup holder. You need to find a container to put your dip in that is shallow enough, not too deep that will also fit the cup holder of your car.
My solution?
You could buy a paper cup meant for coffee and cut them in half. Use the bottom half to put your dip into and you have something that will fit in your cup holder and be really easy to dip into on the go. You also could use this idea to have a place to put any snack you want to eat on the go, including the crackers themselves.
Don't use plastic cups. They crack too easily. And could scratch your hands as it's hard to get a straight cut on them.
