Shirley Temple has been a popular kids drink for years. Typically a Shirley Temple is a mixture of cherry and lemon-lime soda pop like Sprite or 7UP. The Matt Brewing Company has come out with their bottled verison of the classic. This drink falls under their Saranac line of beverages. The label around the neck of the bottle describes this drink in this way: "Created in the late 1930's, this world famous non-alcoholic "cocktail" is universally loved by kids. Hand crafted in the tradition of our world class Saranac Root Beer and formulated with the help of Shirley Temple Aficionados (Kids) and Drinkologists (Bartenders), Saranac Shirley Temple soft drink is a delightful concoction or, int he worlds of one of the taste testers, "awesome". Enjoy!"
Awesome is a great word to describe this drink. It packed quite a punch in the flavor department. Some people might think it is too strong or too sweet, but for me it's right on the money. It's like having a cherry 7-Up only a thousand times better. My wife, who doesn't like cherry flavored things, she even thought this beverage tasted good.
