Perfectly Cooked Bottom Round Roast

ABOUT THIS RECIPE

Take a tough cut of beef and turn it into a tender roast. This is the perfect roast to buy when you are on a tight budget.

INGREDIENTS

– 2.5 lb bottom round roast – 2 tablespoon olive oil  – 1 tablespoon kosher salt – 1 teaspoon garlic powder – 1 teaspoon cumin – 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper – 1 teaspoon onion powder – 1 teaspoon dried thyme – 1 teaspoon crushed coriander – 1 tbsp all purpose flour – 1 cup beef broth or stock – Worcestershire sauce to taste

STEPS 1-2

Step 1 - Add your spice rub to both sides of the roast Step 2 - Insert a probe thermometer to track the temperature while roasting.

STEPS 3-4

Step 3- Cook at 250 degrees until internal temperature is 118 degrees. Step 4 - Raise the oven temp to 500.

STEPS 5-6

Step 5 - Roast until internal temp is 131. Step 6 - Add flour to the beef drippings to make a gravy.

STEPS 7-8

Step 7 - Put the pot over medium heat and cook the flour. Step 8 - Stir in 1 cup of beef broth or stock. Simmer until desired thickness.
