When Will SweeTango Apples Be Available in 2011?

    Published: Aug 25, 2011 Β· Modified: Sep 6, 2020 by Eric Samuelson

Last year all the talk in the apple world (I am not talking about that apple world) was the SweeTango apple. This apple a cross between a Honeycrisp and a Zestar are made available to more consumers last season. I heard many people proclaiming their love for the apple. Now it's almost time for SweeTango to hit the marketplace again. The crop is expected to be up to 3 times larger than last year. Current estimates have the apple being available in stores right after Labor Day. Depending on the area and the store, it may take a couple weeks afterward for some places to receive their first shipment. I will be updating my site again this year on the locations to find SweeTango.

Also this year, there is a contest you can enter to win a season's worth of SweeTango apples (approximately 4 dozen). There will be one winner from the U.S. and one from Canada. Click the image to the right to find out how to enter.

The SweeTango was recently mentioned on a news broadcast out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. You can find the video below.

    Nice to Meet You,

Hi! I'm Eric : Father of 4, living just south of Ann Arbor, MI. I'm a reformed picky eater finding a new way to not conform. Eating what's in season is my jam (I also make it!)
