Equipment

  • air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • cooking spray oil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp sun dried tomato powder optional
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1./2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • kosher salt to taste

Instructions

  • Place your raw ground chicken into a mixing bowl. Add all your seasonings.
  • Mix with your hands to combine. Just mix enough to bring together.
  • Form the chicken into patties in your hands. Get them as thin as you can.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees for a few minutes.
  • Spray a thin layer of cooking oil on each side of your patties and place into the air fryer basket. Make sure that the burgers aren't touching. Working in batches if you need to.
  • Cook for 5 minutes. Then flip patties.
  • Set your air fryer to 390 for another 5 minutes and place burgers back. You will know the burgers are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees using an instant read thermometer. You may need more or less than 5 more minutes.
  • If you want to use cheese add it once you have flipped the burgers. Know that some of the cheese may melt out onto the basket.

Notes

It's best to cook the burgers by temperature not time. The thickness of the burger and the ratio of meat to fat will effect cooking time.
