Another day, another peach variety to try. I was shopping at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market this morning, when I spotted some peaches labeled Candor. So of course I had to try them for the sake of my readers (as well as for the sake of my taste buds). The Candor peach is an early maturing yellow clingstone variety. It is a small size peach, good for a quick snack. It originated in North Carolina in the 1960s. There is a city called Candor in North Carolina that calls itself the "Peach Capital" and hosts an annual peach festival.
My Experience with this Peach (Rating Scale 1-10)
Acidity: 2
Peach Flavor: 4
Sweetness: 9
Juiciness: 7
Overall Feeling: This is the kind of peach that you don't need to break out the sugar for. It's sweet and the acidity is quite low. What also is quite low is the overall peach flavor. It's very mild. It's not the top of the line peach, but it's still a good way to get your peach fix and it is much better than the ones you are finding in your supermarket.

Hmmm. I like what I see here. I'll come back when I have more time. The peaches look delish!
