    πŸ›’ Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Until recently I never saw peaches sold in plastic bags like apples or pears, but it's becoming more common. I don't like it. I think the fruit can become bruised easily and you won't know it until the fruit is ripe. Stick to buying peaches loose by the pound.

A farmer's market is different as those peaches have not traveled as far and the people selling them tend to be more careful with the fruit than grocery store workers. At markets you do find them in containers but those are normally just for display. Paper bags are used but the fruit is tighter together and less likely to be move a lot and bruise.
