    🛒 Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Costco sells mini cucumbers that people just love. But getting through an entire large bag before they go bad may be a problem in your household. What I like to do is make a quick pickle. Cut the cucumbers into slices and put in a jar with some vinegar, salt, and your favorite seasonings. I like to use garlic powder, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, or Japanese BBQ sauce. Make a couple hours before you are going to make burgers and you got your own homemade pickles for them. Leftovers should last in the fridge for at least a week.

Bought a big bag of onions? Sautee a ton of them in a large frying pan. Freeze the leftovers to mix directly into the meat next time you make burgers with ground beef.

People love those toss salad kits. At Costco they can be too much to eat and often some of it goes to waste. I have used some of them on burgers just as you would lettuce or cole slaw.
