The Costco Yogurt That Perfectly Complements Your Seasonal Berries!

Published: Jun 20, 2024 by Eric Samuelson

Grab the A2 Organic Whole Milk Yogurt from Bellwether Farms this summer to go with all those delicious in-season berries.

A wooden bowl of yogurt topped with slices strawberries and honey. The yogurt is from Bellwether Farms (there is a lid on the cutting board).

πŸ–οΈ Happy First Day of Summer. No doubt one of our family's favorite summer treats is yogurt mixed with honey and fresh in season berries. Better yet if we got to pick those berries ourselves.

The yogurt we are using this summer is the whole milk yogurt from Bellwether Farms. Check out this video from my Instagram page to learn more and then continue reading below for more tips:

    Where is the Yogurt Available?

Look for Costco stores in these regions:

    • Bay Area
    • PNW (Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Utah, Idaho)
    • So Cal
    • Hawaii
    • Texas
    • now the South East region

    Picking Berries at Costco

When you are shopping for berries at Costco it's important you look over well. Since you are buying larger than normal containers they need to last long. Thankfully Costco keeps their berries stocked in the refrigerated produce section - which is also THE place to go to cool down on a hot summer day!

You want to look at the bottom container to see if there is any mold or mushy berries. For blueberries you want them to have a slightly white layer on the outside of the fruit. This is called bloom. It is what naturally protects the fruit. When this layer is wiped off (and that's easy to do with your fingers) the fruit will spoil quicker.

Also make sure to look at the per pound price not just the final cost. The sizes of containers can change, so you need to have a good grasp on how much per pound you are paying. Generally strawberries will be the cheapest price per pound and raspberries the most expensive.

How to Make a Yogurt and Berry Bowl

Pretty easy to make a bowl of yogurt and fruit, but I still have some tips for you.

    • Slice strawberries, but you can leave raspberries and blueberries whole.
    • Add the yogurt first, then the berries and honey. Always fold the berries and honey into the yogurt. If you stir the yogurt it will get thinner and runny. The less you can mess with the yogurt the better.

🍯 Check out my post on the Different Types of Honey Varieties to pick out what honey you want to try. Also for more Costco Finds, make sure you are following my Costco Finds magazine on Flipboard.

The creamy texture and subtle sweetness of the yogurt really enhanced the natural flavors of the berries. It's now my go-to snack for a delicious and healthy treat!
