What is your opinion on candy corn? Is it a delicious sweet fall treat or something that makes you want to gag? Whatever side of the fence you are on, you will want to hear about how I have made my own candy corn before and it blows away anything you can buy.

    Homemade Candy Corn

    ๐Ÿ›’ Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Since I first made this recipe I have changed from using a candy thermometer to a probe style thermometer instead. The candy ones can be hard to read and you can overshoot your temperature. What I like better now is using my DOTยฎ Simple Alarm Thermometer from ThermoWorks. I even have a clip from them to attach the probe to the pot. This is a lot easier to read and more accurate than the traditional style candy thermometers that attach to the side of the pot and then you have to try and read it while steam is coming up into your face. The DOT is very affordable and is something you will want to have on hand for that Thanksgiving turkey next month.
