A classic pie combination is strawberries and rhubarb. It's pretty much the only thing anyone really uses rhubarb for. I never expected to find this combo in carbonated form, but I did when I discovered the Strawberry Rhubarb flavor from the Jackson Hole Soda Company. I have had many strawberry soda pops but never any combination like this. The ingredient list includes carbonated filtered water, cane sugar, artificial & natural flavors, citric acid, and sodium benzoate as a preservative. Could the Jackson Hole Soda Company accomplish getting a soft drink to taste like a pie?
They did come pretty close. This wasn't just a ordinary strawberry soda. There is something different about it. I can't say I have drank anything quite like it and I mean that in a good way. The carbonation was what I would expect from a glass bottle soda pop. Since I don't have any other strawberry rhubarb sodas to compare this to, I have to say this was a worthwhile attempt at capturing pie in a bottle.
Where to Buy
I got mine through the online business of the Old 52 General Store. They have over 300 other flavors of soda pop. Their physical store is located in Sabin, Minnesota.
