    Nectafire Flat (Donut) Nectraines

Published: Aug 9, 2012 by Eric Samuelson

I was thinking that I have had peaches and nectarines in every single shape and form. That was until I discovered the existence of a yellow flesh flat nectarine variety called Nectafire. Just looking at this nectarines gets your mouth watering. It's a beautiful deep red color. It is available starting in mid-July.

These particular nectraines were grown by E.W. Brandt and Sons Inc. out of Wapato, Washington. They are located just south of Yakima, Washington, a place known for it's tree fruit. The Brandt family have been involved in agriculture since 1907. They have been expanding their flat stone fruit crop over the last several years

My Experience with this Nectarine (Rating Scale 1-10)
    Acidity: 6
    Flavor: 10
    Sweetness: 7
    Juiciness: 9

Overall Feeling: Absolutely amazing! One of the best pieces of fruit I have put in my mouth this season so far. A wonderful flavor with the right amount of sweetness and acidity. And juice was dripping down my face. What more could you ask for. One person I sampled one to thought they tasted like canned peaches in a good way! I can't wait to devour one of these again. These nectarines are good to eat when they shows a little bit of wrinkling or the skin feels a bit loose. They are good even when more firm than you typically eat peaches or nectarines.
