This is part of a series of posts on juices and unique drinks that I have come across. Everyone knows the Pepsis and Cokes of this world and many sites cover the wines and beers, but I am bringing to you the rest of the beverage world.
I love having special occasions to indulge in certain treats. My family frequented Cracker Barrel quite often when i was a kid. Whether it was when we were on vacation or when they opened a restaurant in my home town of Port Huron, Michigan. One of the things I was always excited to order was a bottle of Stewart's Root Beer. They served it up in a frosted mug which I thought was the coolest. The only hard thing is I didn't get the free refills I was accustom to. But it was worth it to savor the root beer goodness. Years later, I found myself at at Joe's Produce in Livonia, MI. Looking to pick up something to go along with my lunch I decided to give Stewart's Black Cherry soda a try.
A Few Words About Stewart's
Stewart's has been making carbonated drinks since opening a root beer stand in 1924. It wasn't until 1990 that Stewart's drinks became a available in a bottle. Their restaurant business still exists today. I hadn't realized that until I looked up more about them. Their restaurants are located in the east, in states like New Jersey and West Virginia.
This was a very good flavor of soda pop. It was sweet with a good black cherry taste, althought it did taste like candy cherry flavor more than genuine black cherry flavor, which I don't mind, but my wife really does. It was a lot better than the store brands I have had in the past.
