Episode 005 - The Colors of Broccoli

    πŸ›’ Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Sometimes at the grocery store you will find broccoli that has a more purple tint to it. This can be because of the specific variety grown or that broccoli was picked in cooler weather. It's perfectly save to buy broccoli ranging in color from light green to dark green and to hints of purple. Just avoid any yellow.

Also if you are debating between broccoli with a full stalk and broccoli crows, look at the price you will pay per pound. Crowns can be more expensive however if you never use the stalk and just toss it, then it still may be more economical to get the crowns. It depends on the store and if there is a sale going.
