    🛒 Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Popping your own popcorn as a snack is one of the cheapest ways to save money on snacking. Pre-popped popcorn or microwave popcorn bags are far more expensive and you often can get better flavor from doing it yourself. If you vacuum seal already popped popcorn then it's a cheap snack you can take wherever you go.

You may find gift sets of popcorn kernels in the store. While those may be fun, you are going to pay a lot more money for those kernels. It's best to shop by the bag or if you can buy popcorn in bulk. Popcorn hardly ever goes for more than $2 a pound.
