    🛒 Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

One of the reasons I like to buy shallots over onions is that they are smaller. I often don't need a whole huge onion. This saves me on storage space at home and I don't end up wasting anything. Plus I really like the taste.

Try to buy your shallots by the pound instead of in a bag together. That way you can examine the shallots better. They should all be firm with no soft spots.

    📚 Additional Resources

In this episode, we featured a guest Kathy Berget from the blog, Beyond the Chicken Coop and the podcast, Preserving the Pantry. You need to check out her fantastic recipe for Cilantro, Shallot, Lime Compound Butter that is a great way to use up shallots!
