🎄 Cinnamon Rolls
To me it would not be Christmas morning without some delicious, soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls. And of course they have to be homemade. No frozen ones or ones coming out of a can please!
My favorite cinnamon roll recipe is from Sarah Kieffer of the Vanilla Bean Blog. They are the most fluffiest rolls ever. I can get all the ingredients for her cinnamon rolls at ALDI. Most recipes call for similar ingredients except this one uses honey. Here is a list of what the ingredients would cost to buy.
Eggs | $3.52 |
Milk | $2.95 |
Honey | $3.89 |
Flour | $2.12 |
Yeast packet (3-pack) | $.79 |
Butter | $3.29 |
Brown sugar | $1.69 |
Cinnamon | $.99 |
Cream cheese | $1.69 |
Vanilla extract | $5.89 |
Powdered sugar | $1.49 |
If you needed all these ingredients it would cost you $28.31. Most of us will have at least some of those things already stocked up. And of course you will not use all of that to make just a single of cinnamon rolls.
One thing to note is that I didn't list salt. I am very selective when it comes to buying salt and prefer Redmond Real Salt that ALDI doesn't carry.

🍞 French Toast
French toast is always an easy option to make. Unfortunately with the cost of eggs skyrocketing it's not as cheap as it use to be. Still ALDI is a cheaper source than elsewhere for eggs.
As for the bread I like either using their Sourdough Dough or their Artisanal Bread (it has thick slices).
To make this bread special for Christmas I use this instead of milk...

🍓 Toast & Jam
If you are just looking for a simple option check out the holiday fruit spreads ALDI has. They can be used to make toast & jam, so you can get right to unwrapping presents! You can get a 4-pack of their cheese pairing spreads. You usually find it on an end cap. You can also try out any of their fruit preserves. They range in price from $2.99-$3.29 each.
I also found a jar of Acacia Honey, which is a light tasting floral honey. This one came with some of the honeycomb in the jar itself. Also ALDI has had the best prices recently on avocadoes if avocado toast is your jam instead.
🥓 Bacon
When it comes to bacon my advice is to go with the thick cut apple wood smoked bacon. I think it's the best quality. And I think apple wood produces a more flavorful bacon than hickory. Give it a try if you haven't yet.
🥛 Yogurt Parfait
The Indulgent Greek yogurt that ALDI is perfect for making a parfait with. It's a very thick yogurt and is similar to the Greek Gods brand. The price last time was $3.89. It usually comes in honey or honey vanilla. Pair it with any of the granola found over by the cereal. Bags of granola vary in price from $2.99-$3.69 and you can find Non-GMO, Organic, and Gluten Free options.

🥤 Fruit Smoothies
Instead of using that yogurt to make a parfait, pair it with any of the frozen fruit from the frozen section. Might I suggest the mango! They also have peaches, blueberries, strawberries, and a berry medley blend.
🌾 Overnight Oats
Want your food ready to go as soon as your up Christmas morning? If you like oatmeal, then overnight oats is the way to go. You can do that in a slow cooker if you like. I would pick the old fashion oats for this method. Aldi carries steel cut oats too but they are quick ones which is not what you want for your slow cooker.
Or a popular way to do overnight is with chia seeds in the fridge. It's a no cook method. And did you know that Aldi carries chia seeds? They cost $4.99 for a bag.
