    🛒 Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

Normally I don't like buying food that I can fully see, which is why I always avoid those tubs of ground beef. With potatoes it's best for them to be in darkness, so often bags only show you a glimpse of the potato, not the whole thing.

When buying potatoes in bags, examine the potatoes that you can see. Check for any off odors. Gently feel the potatoes through the bag. Do any of them feel too soft? The potatoes should also be dry, there shouldn't be excess moisture.

    Nice to Meet You,

Hi! I'm Eric : Father of 4, living just south of Ann Arbor, MI. I'm a reformed picky eater finding a new way to not conform. Eating what's in season is my jam (I also make it!)
