In episode 053 learn what you can use the green parts of leeks that you would normally just throw out.
🛒 Before You Checkout
What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:
When shopping for leeks, try to find one with the greatest amount of white on them.
Leeks are sold in bunches or individually. It depends on the store. When you buy in bunches you may end up with more than you need, so have a plan to freeze whatever you don't use.
If you are looking for smaller sized leeks, Trader Joe's is a good source. They actually trim them down pretty much too, so you are only buying the tender part of the leek.
