    🛒 Before You Checkout

What you need to know before you checkout at the grocery store or market:

You can find asparagus being sold in bags at a lot of grocery stores. I would avoid buying it this way. It's often too wet, and then gets soggy. It's really not the ideal way to store asparagus. You are best off souring it from a grocery store that places their bunches in water.

I also would think twice about asparagus that has already been trimmed for you. Yes, you are paying for the bottom parts that you cut off anyway because it's too tough. Often the increased price you pay will make it cost more in the end. Plus the bottom parts of the asparagus can be used to make soup.
