    Types of Berries

When you can get a freshly picked berry it is absolutely bliss. In my travels around the country I have been able to pick many different types of berries myself:

    • Strawberries in Michigan and Wisconsin
    • Blueberries in Michigan and New York
    • Wild blueberries in Maine
    • Wild black raspberries in Michigan, Illinois, New York
    • Gooseberries in Michigan and New York
    • Saskatoon berries in Wisconsin and Michigan

I'm still hoping to go huckleberry picking in the northwest someday!

I also hunt down the different varieties of berries in the grocery store. I looked several years to track down white strawberries and pink lemonade blueberries. One year I heard about Tropical Bliss strawberries on Instagram and immediately headed to the nearest store to seek them out. I had the blog post up the next day!

On this page you will find information on when berries are in season, the different varieties available, and shopping tips to help you get the most out of your berry purchases.
