    Varieties of Citrus

Whether you are a fan of oranges, grapefruit, lemons, mandarins that come in smiley faced packages, or blood oranges there is plenty of variety in the citrus world. A couple times during the winter, I have been able to visit the California Citrus State Historic Park in Riverside. There I saw with my own eyes just how many types of citrus exist.

I have taken many other trips to citrus groves and packinghouse and even stayed at a KOA campground in Tucson, Arizona that had lemons, grapefruit, or oranges at each campsite.

    • Friends Ranch in Ojai, CA (famous for their Pixie Tangerines)
    • Noble Citrus in Winter Haven, FL (developed the new Juicy Crunch Tangerine)
    • Dooley Groves in Ruskin, FL (we picked grapefruit and Honeybells)
    • Satsumas of Savannah in Savannah, GA (saw how they are growing Satsuma tangerines in Georgia)
    • B&B Citrus Farms in Mesa, AZ

You will find the information I learned from those trips as well as from buying any variety of citrus I can find at stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, the Fresh Market, the Central Market, Sprouts and Publix in the posts below.

    Nice to Meet You,
